The goal of this program is to promote the analysis of cancer as a complex biological system by supporting the development of reliably predictive in silico or computational models of cancer initiation and progression that can ultimately lead to the development of improved cancer interventions. It integrates experimental and computational approaches towards the understanding of cancer biology. The initiative encourages the emergence of integrative cancer biology as a distinct field. The program aims to develop and experimentally validate computational models of EGFR-family signaling in breast cancer that will predict individual responses to therapeutic agents that target this pathway. The program is one of ten NIH National Cancer Institute (NCI) funded Center for Cancer Biology (CCSB) in the United States. More information about NIH/NCI ICBP available here.

Upcoming (and recent) Regular events
ICBP-PSOC Joint Webinars
Presentations are scheduled the first and third Wednesday of each month, 2:00 - 3:30 pm. The first and third Wednesday meeting is a joint meeting of the Oregon Berkeley Anderson San Francisco Integrated Cancer Biology Program (ICBP) and the Bay AreaPhysical Sciences Oncology Center(PSOC)groups.
Please see "News" and "Events" for more information, including notes on recent webinars.
Please contact Saheli Datta ( saheli [AT] berkeley [dot] edu) to get on the mailing list for webinar announcements and obtain the dial-in and web login information for each webinar. Saheli sometimes conducts group viewings of the webinar 'live' in Stanley Hall at UC Berkeley (with snacks for those who RSVP!) which are announced on the mailing list; OHSU members can contact Norene Jelliffe ( jellife [AT] ohsu [dot] edu) about participating in the group viewings in Portland.
